The seminar commenced with registration followed by the inaugural ceremony and Pushpanjali to Maa Saraswati. Prof. (Dr.) Nitu Bhatnagar, Provost, delivered the Welcome Address, and Prof. Brajesh Kumar, Dean, FoMCA, introduced the theme of the seminar. The keynote address was delivered by Shri Gopal Arya on “ऊर्जा, स्थिरता और जलवायु परिवर्तन: भारतीय परिप्रेक्ष्य में”, offering valuable insights into indigenous perspectives on sustainability and climate change. The Chief Guest, Acharya Mithilesh Sharan Nandini from Ayodhya, emphasized the intrinsic harmony between ancient Indian scriptures and modern scientific approaches to environmental sustainability. The inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Sushil Kumar, HoD, Department of Media, Communication and Fine Arts. The Plenary Session, themed “स्थिरता की ओर: भारतीय ज्ञान परंपरा की भूमिका”, was chaired by Shri Om Prakash Bairwa, Commissioner of Higher Education, Rajasthan, with an insightful address by Shri Sanjay Swami, National Coordinator for Environment Education, highlighting the educational and policy relevance of indigenous ecological principles. The seminar further featured three parallel technical sessions, chaired by senior faculty members of Manipal University Jaipur, during which 15 research papers were presented on IKS-based sustainable living models, traditional energy and water conservation practices, environmental ethics in Indian philosophy, and the role of media in climate awareness, fostering rich academic discussion among participants from across the country. The Valedictory Session began with a welcome address by Prof. Brajesh Kumar, followed by a special lecture by Dr. Vijay Vyas, Director, IGRF, on the role of ESG in climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability, along with expert talks by Shri Nitin K. Jain and Prof. Milind Sharma. The seminar concluded with a comprehensive summary by Dr. Vinod Yadav, Co-Convener, concluding remarks by Shri Sanjay Swami, participant feedback, certificate distribution, and a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Prabhat Dixit, Convener of the Seminar.
Purpose: This initiative aims to explore the relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems in addressing global environmental and climate challenges by integrating traditional ecological wisdom with contemporary climate resilience and environmental conservation strategies.
