Manipal University Jaipur successfully concluded its week-long celebration of Daan Utsav 2024 from October 1 to October 7, 2024. The event series, guided by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.N. Sharma, Registrar Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Prof. Anil Dutt Vyas (Director, DSW), and convened by Hemant Kumar, Assistant Director, DSW, brought together over 150 students from the Rotaract Club and MUJ, along with the broader community, to celebrate the joy of giving and social responsibility./p>

In the lead-up to the event, students from the Rotaract Club and MUJ enthusiastically participated in collecting donations from various locations across Jaipur, including Bapu Bazar, Johari Bazar, Chora Rasta, and VKI, to contribute to the causes promoted through Daan Utsav.

Highlights of the event included:

1. October 1 - Wish Tree Initiative The celebration began with the Wish Tree Initiative, where students and faculty fulfilled the wishes of underprivileged children, highlighting the university's commitment to giving back.

2. October 2 - Cleanliness Drive On Gandhi Jayanti, a Cleanliness Drive was held on October 2, emphasizing environmental sustainability and cleanliness in public areas in nearby villages.

3. October 3 - Plantation Drive at a Local School A Plantation Drive was organized at a nearby school on October 3, encouraging environmental consciousness and green living.

4. October 4 - NGO Mela The NGO Mela on October 4 saw the participation of organizations such as Aahan Foundation, Every Person's Hope Foundation, and Gram Asha, promoting causes like education, health, and women's empowerment.

5. October 5 - Jeevan Jyoti Old Age Home Visit On October 5, students visited Jeevan Jyoti Old Age Home, spending time with the elderly and fostering a sense of community care.

6. October 6 - Self-Defense Workshop A Self-Defense Workshop was conducted on October 6, empowering participants with practical skills for personal safety.

7. October 7 - NGO Seminar and Felicitation Ceremony The event concluded with a NGO Seminar and Felicitation Ceremony on October 7, honoring NGOs like SAKSHAM, PRAYAAS CORP, The Robin Hood Army, and Aashrey Care for their contributions to society.

The entire week witnessed the active participation of over 200 children and numerous members of the community, highlighting the success of this initiative. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.N. Sharma commended the efforts of the students and faculty, emphasizing that "Daan Utsav is about more than just giving; it is about creating a culture of kindness and service."

The tireless efforts of Hemant Kumar, Rotaract Club students, and the DSW team ensured the success of this festival, reinforcing the university's role as a hub of community engagement and social responsibility.
