Prof. (Dr.) Amit Soni did his BE Electrical (Electronics & Power) Engineering from SRTMU, Nanded, Maharashtra in 2001, scoring first rank and was awarded ‘Gold Medal’ for his outstanding academic performance. He has done MTech (Power System) in 2005 and PhD (Power System) in 2012, both from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur (MNIT), Jaipur. He has a rich Academic & Research experience of 24 years which includes 3 years of Industrial experience in RRVPNL, Jaipur.
Dr Amit joined Manipal University Jaipur on 20th August 2014 as an Associate Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering and has held Professor and various key administrative positions in his career at Manipal University Jaipur.
He has contributed as Dean In charge - FoE, as Director SEEC (School of Electrical, Electronics & Communication), as In-Charge CEO, Atal Incubation Centre (AIC), as member, Board of Director, AIC-MUJ, as Director (International Collaborations), as Member, Board of Management (BOM), MUJ for a period of 3 years. He has worked as Director (Quality & Compliance), and successfully contributed to NIRF Ranking 2021, AQAR-1 and NBA visit for 5 Engineering Departments.
Before joining Manipal University Jaipur, he has worked as Director, Asians Institute of Technology (AIT), Rajasthan , Coordinator - Global College of Technology (GCT), and HOD, Department of Electrical Engineering, Global Institute of Technology (GIT).
He has published 133 research papers which include reputed SCI International Journals (40) with high impact Q1 & Q2 journals and Scopus indexed conferences (93) at National and International level. He has published several book chapters and have contributed as ‘Lead Editor’ in LNEE Springer & Taylor Francis CRC publications. He has successfully supervised 6 PhDs and currently 6 research scholars are currently working under his supervision. He has worked as PI for DST SERB as and Co-PI for CSIR Research project funded research project. He is a regular reviewer of research articles for many high impact international journals. He is life member of Optica, Solar Energy Society of India, Member ISTE, India and IEEE, USA. His research interests include Conventional Power and Renewable Energy Sources, Power System Stability, Solar Photovoltaic Materials: Material Characterization, Semiconductor Device Physics, Bulk & Thin Film Technology, Photoluminescence and Power Quality Improvements.
